All chickens pictured were born and raised here on the farm and are alive and well in the photos. I live here in rural Missouri and do my best to live environmentally friendly.....from raising my chickens for free range eggs, to tending to a large garden and preserving food for the winter months, to hunting and fishing for most of my meat. I have a bachelors degree in fine art from the University of Illinois and interests in nature. The farm where I live, which is owned by my brothers and me, has been converted to native grasses and wildflowers, and is managed with the prescribed fires, an essential tool to prairie management. I have loved birds ever since I can remember, and purchased my Audubon Field Guide to North American Bird (Eastern Region) when I was 13. It only makes sense that I have turned my eye to the birds that I have always loved, and create habitats for them to temporarily "live" in.
