"Little Hen"

Matthew Hemminghaus  2014

Little Hen is one of our smallest and oldest chickens and is showing she still likes to party by showing up at the disco. The banana peel symbolizes the fragility of skin turning from green to brown in just a few days and doubles to show her tiny size. The Gerhard Richter painting on the opposite wall is my favorite painting in the St Louis Art Museum.

All frames are hand built using reclaimed antique wood and non reflective Ultra View glass.  The mats are acid free 100% cotton rag and the images are printed using archival ink on Museo Silver Rag paper.
